A Blue Blue Christmas

One of the fun places to visit in Minneapolis is Que Sera a hip, romantic, and beautiful home decor store.  I love visiting this store for inspiration almost as much as Anthroplogie..........  

Unfortunately, the price tags prevent me for buying everything.   But, a girl can dream and perhaps find a special treasure!

This Christmas

Christmas is my favorite times of the year............  Could it be the decorating? Usually, I plan my holiday decor way in advance.  I read all the holiday magazines for ideas and inspiration.  This year......well I just kinda winged it!  With moving two household this summer I just couldn't bring myself to unpack all of my holiday decor.  There are boxes and boxes of decorations in my garage as we speak.  This year's theme........simplicity!

We definitely love our Christmas tree this year!  This 12 ft. beauty is from my home state of Michigan.  Yay!  You can see that I could add more ornaments to our tree.......but I keep thinking about taking them all down.  Thank goodness I had Camille to help me unpack them and she will be here to help take them down.  (Wink)!!

I love how easy it has been easy to find wonderful ornaments here in Missouri.  What a delight!  I began searching antique shops for ornaments right after Halloween. 

I think my vintage ornament collection now includes ornaments from Florida, Minnesota, Arizona, Seattle, and St. Louis!

Dreaming of a Minnesota Vintage Christmas

I am back.......... writing this post while I should be addressing Christmas cards and wrapping packages to get in the mail!  But, I wanted to share a few glimpses of my trip to Minnesota.  

Although I was gone for 5 days the time flew by quickly and I was back here in St. Louis before I could blink an eye.  And since I have been back... I have had sewing lessons, workout sessions with my trainer, attended a concert, a "diva party", went to Nashville for the weekend for the Rams vs. Titans game, along with all the holiday hustle and bustle.

So, I am wishing it was the beginning of December again when I was having so much fun doing this........antiquing in Minnesota at my favorite "Occasional Sales" that I mentioned in the previous post.  I love planning my visit to Minnesota for the first week in December so I can attend these special holiday sales with my girlfriends!

Hanging out with my girls Jane and Pam at Mustard Moon.  See the awesome statue I bought!  I just found out that Pam is a flight attendant now for Southwest Airlines.......she is a hoot!

And of course I have a fondness for statues and architectural pieces.  Too bad I could take any home in my suitcase........sigh!

Aren't  these huge pine cones cool?  They had some of the most awesome arrangements for the holidays.  This would look great on my front porch!

Just Catching My Breath

Oh it has been a busy two weeks here in St. Louis!  FIrst, all the Thanksgiving preparations........an entire week no less!!  We had several of Charlie's players over for dinner so I was cooking up a storm.  I think they all enjoyed it so I think it was definitely all worthwhile?  What a great group of young men who I look forward to watching on the football field.  

Camille was home for a short visit and we had the opportunity to go see the movie the "Blindside"  which was awesome and a must see for everyone!  We also went to the Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks game that unfortunately didn't result in a win for us!

I have been busy working out with a personal trainer and that has been an adventure.  I am gradually getting adjusted to my new exercise routine and it actually is kinda fun.  The eating plan I am following has been a little tougher with trying to eat every 3 hours.......  But, I am committed to making this work so I will keep you posted.

And now I am off to Minneapolis and so excited to return to my old stomping grounds and spending time with old friends.  Tomorrow I am going to two of my favorite places Haupt Antiek Market and Mustard Moon for their occasional sales.  Occasional Sale are monthly sales  that are open for 3-4 days with new merchandise that changes each month.  Of course you know my love of antiques so I am over the moon with anticipation.

So, tomorrow I will be Haupt having a wonderful time and to top it off, I hear it is snowing in Minneapolis.  Hopefully, I will be able to snap some photos to share!
