Meet Me For Tea

Are these the cutest tea towels?  

   

If you don't know by now, I'll let you in on a little secret..... I have a  love affair with crowns.   So when I saw these darling towels my heart skipped a beat!

 I also have a love/ hate relationship with these:

BIrds!  I love the image of birds on about everything from rubber stamps, note cards, pictures, figurines and on & on.  I just don't like what birds do when they take over your swimming pool and do their deeds everywhere!  

But, you can find these cheerful  tea towels at Teresa Sheeley's Etsy Shoppe.  Teresa has the most lovely things and beautiful artwork too.  If you purchase these tea towels, perhaps I could come over for tea .......say high noon!

Getting There

Well, I am getting there.......  Making progress towards getting my house in order!  That's what I think........  My husband thinks a little differently..............are you surprised?  Charlie came home from training camp yesterday.  He made the comment that a lot of progress hasn't been made in our lower level!!!

The lower level is where my craft room/studio is & a there is lots of stuff.  I am dedicating myself to at least an hour a day to get this space in order.  First, to minimize the clutter and secondly because I miss creating!!!!  I have been busy meeting people here in St. Louis and going out and about.  Everyone here is so nice, &  it is definitely refreshing from some of the places I have lived.  I think it is the Midwest meets the South and what a great combination for friendliness & hospitality.

I have been to dinner with two sets of neighbors, several invitations to parties/gatherings, and a dear friend from Michigan threw a party in my honor last weekend to meet her friends.  So that said.........I have been staying quite busy!

I have been working on my living room and that is coming together quite nicely..........

It has been fun moving different accessories around to different rooms than our previous house.  Then there is the task of merging accessories, pictures, and mirrors and trying to find the right home for them in a totally different type of space.  We have edited some pieces and added only a few!  I still have a lot of pictures & mirrors that are not yet on the walls.  I need one of my girlfriends with an eye for design to help me out!

So, I have just resigned myself that it takes time to make a house a home.  However, in this football coaching business time is not always our friend!    I'll be back next week with some more pictures of my progress.  Have a great weekend everyone! 

Manchester Road

It's always fun to get out and about.......  and shake things up a bit!  That's what Charlie and I did a couple of weeks ago before he headed to training camp.     We decided to abandon our work clothes (from all the moving and unpacking) and head downtown for an evening of fun.  

Tim Cunningham a fabulous R & B saxophone player and former football player of Charlie's was performing at the St. Louis Jazz Cafe.  Tim a former football player Michigan State University, played in the early 1980's  while Charlie was coaching there.   

The St. Louis Jazz Cafe is a great venue where patrons can enjoy cocktail, appetizer, or meal while listening to great music in an intimate atmosphere.   We were honored to have seat right next to the stage with Tim's wife Lorann and his mother-in-law Jen.  This was our first time meeting them & they were a great pair.
