It's 5:15 p.m. and I am justing getting out of my pj's. Sometimes its like that and today was one of those days. The only reason I am dressed at the moment is because we are going out to dinner to celebrate my cousin birthday. But, I did spend the majority of the day listening to Christmas music and finishing this:
I solved my Christmas Tree decorating dilemma by suspending the ornaments with fishing wire. The difficulty was the top of the tree branches were spaced quite a bit apart so I had to find a way to take up a lot of the empty space and this worked pretty well. So over a week later the tree is finally decorated.
This year I wanted to try something a little different and use all vintage ornaments. I was lucky enough to score quite a few at an antique store where the owner really wanted to make a deal. When I first went into the store and inquired about the price of the ornaments he said they were $3.00-$5.00 dollars a piece. When I came up empty handed he want to make a deal and offered about 5 boxes of ornaments to me for $30.00. Feeling that I would be taking advantage of him to purchase the ornaments at that price I payed him $50.00 and felt bad about my big score.
I also gathered many of my pink, gold, silver, and light blue ornaments and put them in this large bowl I have on my dining room table.
I have also been working on a few Christmas crafting projects. Yesterday I spent the entire day over at my friend Dianne's house working on a few things. Everything I am working on is in a state of evolution and nothing is quite done yet. I did have the help of Susan a friend who helped me with some skills that I don't yet have. But, I am trying.... and trying leads to improvement right? I hope so because there is much yet to be done before December 25th! I plan to go shopping tomorrow to find some of the holiday gifts I need to purchase.
Our football season was officially over yesterday and we complete the season 0-12. That's almost unheard of but it was our reality this year. A new head coach for our team will be announced tomorrow. This means that my husband will officially be on vacation indefinitely. Perhaps I might have some help around the house. Lol. Maybe he will get involved in some of my craft projects? Well, that is highly unlikely but a girl can dream can't she? Especially during the holiday season. Isn't that the magic of Christmasis about.......a little dreaming?
