This Is My Life Right Now

This is my life right now..........I am in Seattle finishing another chapter of my life. 

 On to St. Louis and a new future!  I'll keep you posted with updates.  It's been a crazy week moving this house and my Phoenix house (at the same time) to our new abode.  Not sure what I am going to do with all this stuff from 2 houses; but, I 'll figure it out on the other end.  

I don't have the energy to part with some of my stuff at the moment.  But, some pieces like this one have served me well.

We'll see if they will have a home in St. Louie.......

A Little More Melrose

As  promised a few more pictures from Melrose Vintage.  I am so inspired that I am thinking about taking a trip over there myself.....

Melrose Vintage has all kinds of seating to meet everyone's individual needs like this comfy sofa pictured above.

I love the slipcover on this chair made from old feed sacks.

I would love to design a living room around this settee & pillows.  They look so peaceful and serene.

Melrose Vintage

Okay, I  have one more week in Phoenix and I still have to show you another one of my favorite places Melrose Vintage.  I know I have shown you a few outside shots before......... but, this time I am taking you inside this lovely shoppe!

Melrose Vintage is owned by a wonderful mother and daughter team Diane & Wendy.  Melrose Vintage is located at 4238 N. Seventh Avenue in Phoenix (in the Melrose District).  There are plenty of great shoppes in this are that I love like Paris Envy and Rust & Roses so it is definitely worth the trip.  I believe the store will be closed for the summer holiday so call before you go.

When you visit the shoppe you will be notice the shabby chic, vintage, european antique influence.  The store has something for everyone such a home furnishings,bedding & linens, fabric,  a children's and infant section, jewelry, and tons of scrapbook/paper arts supplies!!!  Melrose Vintage was one of the official retailers carrying Rachel Ashwell's Shabby Chic furniture line.

There are lots of vintage chandeliers inside the store.

Behind the store were all kinds of "funky" items like this pink headboard.  Apparently, they had just cleaned out their storage unit!

Inside the store I was greeted with this beautiful bedroom vignette.

And this one was quite lovely too..........

Have You Seen

Have you seen Heather Bullard's new website?  If not make sure you visit her boutique.

The boutique is absolutely lovely featuring a home collection, vintage market, and belle armoire.  I immediately started gushing when I saw the french inspired furniture that I just love.  The bed in the above picture is to die for! And all of it reflects Heather's signature style.  I was lucky enough last year to purchase this chandelier from Heather at the Farm Chicks Show.  She was such a sweet person that it made it all the more fun to buy her one of a kind goods.

The Farm Chicks annual show is this weekend in Spokane, Washington and will not disappoint.  If you are in the area I highly recommend you make the trip to check them out.

The other fun thing that I picked up this week was the Somerset Sew Summer 2009 Magazine.  Oh, what great projects and inspiration are inside.  I cannot wait to get to St. Louis and set up my studio and give some of these fabric journals a try.  Pick up a copy today.......you too will be inspired!

Simple Beauty

Ever since I moved to Arizona I was told about the beautiful red skies.  You  have to be in the right place at the right time to catch one.  And lucky me that this view appeared as I sat on my patio this evening.  And just as I viewed this beautiful sky it disappeared within minutes.

There are so many breathtaking sites to see here in Arizona & I am going to miss them when I move to St. Louis.  Memorial Day weekend we ventured to Canyon Lake not far from our house.  You might be thinking "lake in Phoenix?"  Yes, there are three lakes nearby that local residents flock to in the summer heat & this holiday weekend was no exception.

Miles and miles of winding roads and beautiful scenery.

And then finally this is the view you see as you drive into the canyon.  You will be greeted with the most amazing sight that you never expect to see in the desert.

You will be in awe of the simple beauty of it all..............
